Departure

The plane for Milan wasn't full. The single thought came thru my brain while looking down on Milan's lights was how to record those twenty millions of little dots with only three and half megapixel digital camera.

Actually, in that moment I started to respect my little country. The peace and solitude is found immediately when I leave the town edge and scale up on first hill. The immensity of this world you feel right away you rise on a plane over night northeast Italy. Millions of lights everywhere below gave a hunch that down there is endlessness number of the same sacks of bones and meat as on this plane.

If Venetian airport looks large to you, the Milan's will frighten you by it hugeness. Actually, only rashness at running over footways to next plane prevented me to think about infinitude of those endless passages. I walked over without thinking about I can be lost in them.

Even the signs are good and the personnel is obliging, is not pleasant to miss the way if you are in a hurry.

It is good to say that is no brain to delay with departure from home if you have a hundred of miles to you main airport. I was little anxious at twelve even I had departure from Venetia six hours later. It has to be only around three hours of ride to Venetia with car, but you can never know. Italian customs officials can make a trouble and Italian truck drivers may strike with road blockades. I couldn't convince my wife I rather wait on airport three hours as miss the flight.

Really, before the Vrhnika town begun a drive bumper to bumper because of overturn truck. Happily one deadlock doesn't mean three hours of stop so I didn't used to spend those three reserve hours.

The sole thing I forgot to buy was small spanish-slovene travel dictionary. I tried to find it in three bookshops, and they had fifty english and forty german dictionaries, but no spanish. It was too late so I had to rely on few spanish words I had learned before. I realized this faultiness of stores before when I had searched for special photographic tools. The stores have full mouth of stuff when they offer; when you ask for something that is not on stock, you become a killjoy. Small pocket dictionary is really valuable because on the land hardly anyone speaks english.

In Italy you have to be bonehead to miss the way. The road marks are really good. That was also the reason I had really to wait three hours in Venetian airport. Anyway, later I found out how better is long expectation as short run.
